makes me think of stick avalanche, which was a fun multiplayer game. I played this game alone but added player 2 so i could use WASD instead of arrow keys, this game is definitely more like a stick avalanche 1 than a stick avalanche 2, not lots of depth or anything, but still playable. im sure if i had a friend to play with it d be more fun than playing alone.

reply: i havent played stick avalanche in forever, went back to it and it was definitely not the greatest comparison but the element of gameplay and depth i would think still holds somewhat true. it gets harder and you're really just chasing a high score. i tried to play this again to see how far i could get, i got a score of 62 and there were 5 wolf heads on screen.

the character moves really slow and the game feels like it will inevitably reach an unplayable level of difficulty, almost leaving me with no desire to keep trying as I feel defeated before I even start.

as any game with a hi-score im sure if i had someones real score to try to overcome then I would definitely have that little bit of fuel to keep playing and keep trying for a harder score. keep at it! i hope i have left a positive comment on your game :)

Thanks a lot for the feedback!
The game doesn't catch stars from the sky, but anyway)
That's true, playing with someone is always more fun)

love the simple games man, would be cool if you had on site scoreboards as well as the in game ones. maybe some variation in the visuals or music even at certain scores could act as a small reward to players who try to push the high scores or reach certain score milestones. the sounds go well with the music beat but it's very simple just like the game.

i dont know what the point of being the yellow guy was but the sparkles made me feel more epic, collected 20 stars and had like 34 deaths. i think there's nothing left to do i can't find anything else. was fun for what bit there was to do, looks and sounds nice.

unique and very random. i couldn't get past the 4th enemy it seemed there was no way to not take damage. money has no purpose yet i guess either but cool idea, keep at it.

edit: ill have to check it out again!

Wait, haven't you seen the shop? It's actually accessible through the map!

Caenor responds:

I assume you're talking about David, he's very hard to beat without the power ups from the shop mainly because you can't heal, I recommend pressing M while freeroaming to open up the map and go to the shop, buy some power ups so you can beat him

some music could've been nice, game was pretty straightforward and required a lot of key pressing which felt a little unnecessary. graphics were nice

--I beat the last level-- i am a baby -- thanks for making this game --

Fun game! Sounds great and the gameplay is addicting with a level of skill mastery for the true gamers... I was not one of those true gamers. I tried to beat all the levels but the last one really pushed me to my limits, I was not able to overcome it and I felt very disappointed in myself. Maybe one day I will be able to beat the final level. Played the game itself for at least an hour or two straight, got from start to finish (without completion).

==original review i left after having to give up on the last level :(==

getting the speed boosts is very tricky, the short burst of speed thats followed by slowing down immediately is tricky to get into a rhythm with too especially when it seems like you need to be playing perfectly to even get them in the first place. maybe i just suck

the ability to restart faster would be nice especially considering how much the bonus level asks of the player. i tried to beat it but im not a tasbot i guess. the very end is very cruel too as you get almost no time to react to anything coming your way and the computers that are so tuned up have a really big advantage over you.

i feel like being in the middle of it all makes it trickier too but its almost just like a mess of moving things at different speeds and then you have all the sounds jumbled together. it was fun but what seems to be the last level, turned a good experience into a not so enjoyable one. maybe i just suck and cant beat it. i will likely try to beat it in the future

ILikeBread7 responds:

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you seem to have mostly liked my game.

Yeah, the speed boosts aren't intended to be something you get all the time. The intent was for there to be some risk associated with trying to get the boost, so you can make a choice to either go for it and risk running into an obstacle, or play it safe, jump well ahead of the obstacle and give up on the boost. The cpus are also supposed to be tuned in a way that you shouldn't need to get every (or even most) boosts to win the race.

There's also a strategic element there where you can take more risks at the beginning of the race when crashing and restarting loses you less (and also there's more time to see the obstacles coming making it easier to react) to build up a lead early on, and play safer near the end if you manage to build up that lead (and there's less time to react, so the focus should be on just avoiding the obstacles instead of getting the boosts).

I guess maybe I should communicate this better to the player? Or maybe it is just too hard.
It would be nice to hear if this information can help you beat the final level. It would help me figure out how to improve the game.

As for the ability to restart, if you click on the pause icon in the top right corner of the screen (or press escape on the keyboard or right click anywhere) you open a pause menu from which you can restart. Have you tried that or did that still seem too slow?

And yes, that is the last level.
I put the player in the middle for aesthetics, not to make it harder, but I can see how it can make it hard to focus. Same with all the sounds playing together. Thanks for pointing that out, I might need to rethink those parts.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback! I'm trying to improve my game design skills, so that's very valuable to me :)

high score 209, had a bunch of caps but i opened a new tab thinking itd pause but then i died (i was trying to turn on some music cuz this game has none)

i dont know man... i could spend more time trying to figure this game out but it feels very rough

i got past the first part with the doors and then it turned into a sidescroller and then nothing made sense, and theres no checkpoints so I don't want to keep doing the first part to figure out how the heck to pass the next one. sorry man

JeiArrShi responds:

That's ok. Guess I should've explained in this game first that approaching the enemy would put you in a sidescroller battle. Sorry that you couldn't go through the whole demo :(

Thx 4 playing it, tho, as well as giving me feedback. I appreciate it ^w^

this game doesnt want me to have fun. this game wants me to die.

I dont like that. it also feels like a very bad mario ripoff

i dont know what else to say, but i gave up after beating a couple levels... the level icons were red even after finishing, game feels like it could be polished... a lot more.........

tutoblocky responds:

Yeah, i'll maybe do a overhaul on the idle, run, jump, and falling animations, adding a lil animation on the Level Select each time that you finish a level, programming that the levels turn blue or other color each time that you beat them is easy, the only thing that maybe be hard is to save if the level has been beaten or not, and maybe Re-Do the World 1 making new levels for it and get rid of the old ones. AND change the music

the game was alright, i feel like its obvious as to what turn the story takes and for a simple conversation text based "adventure" there is a lack of depth, just more focus on emotion with no real counterpart, just forced emotion.

the ending message was cool, platforming felt very simple and any obstacle i was faced with was easy to overcome, I find I died more just being in a rush to see the next part of the dialogue.

cool game, not bad. wasn't my favourite but good presentation, experience feels slow and there isn't much investment to reward any sort of endurance through the slow, i still beat it but, i wouldn't beat it again i don't think. maybe 10 or 20 years from now if i thought of it again and wanted to vibe with the vibes this game presents

:)

GooseStranger responds:

Well, I appreciate you playing regardless! And thank you for all the feedback!
